Elisha Cuthbert was born in Calgary but her family moved to the East Coast. At the age of 7, Elisha started modeling children's clothing in catalogs and magazines. In 1997, she was in the show Popular Mechanics for Kids, traveling around the world. She stayed on the show for three years. After that Elisha Cuthbert starred in Airspeed (1998) co-starring Joe Mantegna. In 1999, Elisha starred in Who Gets the House?, Time at the Top and Nickelodeon's Are You Afraid of the Dark?.
In 2001 she starred in Lucky Girl where she portrayed a teenager who happens to be a compulsive gambler. For this role, Elisha won Gemini Award (Canada's version of the Emmy) for "Best Actress in a Leading Role in a Dramatic Program or Miniseries". After that she starred in the television series, 24, co-starring Kiefer Sutherland. The serie won the "Best Television Series - Drama - Golden Globe" in 2004. Elisha Cuthbert starred in Love Actually (2003), The Girl Next Door (2004) in which she plays the role of a Pornstar called Danielle, and in the film House of Wax (2005) co-starring Paris Hilton. Elisha was ranked no. 5 in FHM 100 Sexiest Women 2005.
