Christy Turlington was born in Walnut Creek, California, USA. As a child she had an undeniable passion for horses and horseback riding. At 13 years of age her father entered young Christy Turlington in local competitions and it was around this time that a Dennie Cody discovered the immature beauty that later became a face on many magazines in the world. Christy was hired imidiately by a local agency and her first shoot was for a store chain called Emporium Capwell. Her face became famous almoste instantly in Miami's fashion world and it wasen't long before fashion agencies were demanding Christy's for their shoots. After that the word spread to New York and Eileen Ford, a modeling's top scout, that offered Christy a job in Paris. Christy Turlington first high status photo shoots in Europe didn't work out so the you beauty returned back home. Around that time models like Stephanie Seymour, Cindy Crawford and Linda Evangelista began getting noticeable attention. Still 16 years old, Eileen Ford, who wouldn't give up on Christy, sent the Christy Turlington to New York's most noted magazines and photographers. After an appearance in Vogue magazine in the US, Christy whent back to high school to complete her education. After a cover shot for Vogue Italy, in 1987, her modeling career sky rocketed. Soon after that the best photographers in the world began knocking on Christy's professional door. Designers such as Chanel, Christian Lacroix, Gianni Versace, and Azzedine Alaia were asking for her face.
